Hi there, I’m Erin! I’m so glad you stopped by my little blog. Stay for a minute or an hour, I am thrilled you’re here.
I started Living and Loving in L.A. back in 2009. At the time I was in my mid-twenties, I lived by myself in West Hollywood, and I often ate cottage cheese and potato chips for dinner while working 13-hour days as an entry-level fashion designer. This blog got me to try new recipes, run a few marathons with my running buddy, and basically served as my creative outlet when I felt “stuck” in the workplace.
By 2010, I found a new job that allowed me to climb the corporate ladder, but also required me to travel. A lot. Like, a lot a lot. The frequent flyer miles were growing exponentially while this blog started to collect dust. In a 20-month time span, I traveled to China 14 times. Three of those times I was there for a month or longer. All of my creative energy was spent overseas. When I was home I had no time for cooking or crafting. Los Angeles felt like a world away from my days in Shanghai.
The one thing that stayed constant during that time was The Boyfriend. My love for him is overwhelming. He is the most perfect person for me on this planet. His hugs fit mine like a glove. He pushes me to reach my full potential in ways I can’t find words to explain. I’m obsessed with his laugh, and he makes a mean bolognese.
In August of 2013, after dating for the better part of a decade, The Boyfriend proposed. I decided to recommit myself to this blog because like The Boyfriend, it has always been there for me, as neglectful as I may have been throughout the years.
I’m now planning our wedding, and loving L.A. more than ever. I’m still working as a fashion designer, dressing the most fashionable children in the world. I’ve traded running for spin class, West Hollywood for life by the beach, and rush hour for happy hour.
There are so many fun things in store for us, and I can’t wait to share them all with you.
