One of the things I packed for my last China trip was Season 1 of The Sopranos. I was in high school (eek!) while season 1 aired, and my mom never really let us watch HBO anyway. Plus I'm not sure a show about the mob would have appealed to myself as a 17-year-old cheerleader. I do remember begging my mom to let me order HBO so I could watch this new show everyone was talking about called "Sex and the City." Little did I know that it would become a cultural icon, especially for someone like myself in the fashion industry. But back to the gangsters...

I am surprised by how much I love The Sopranos. I'm also surprised that until last week I managed to never watch a single episode! But then again, it's not exactly like I've been slacking for the last 10 years. TV is not really my thing. You want proof?

A List of TV Shows I TiVo:
Dr. Oz
Say Yes To The Dress

A List of TV Shows I've Never Seen:
True Blood
Mad Men
Friday Night Lights

A List of TV Shows I Wish Were Still on TV:
Full House
Golden Girls

Now that I'm reading this post I feel pretty pathetic. But isn't that why I have this blog? To share my thoughts, as culturally insignificant as they are? Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go finish watching this DVD. I'm on episode 9, and Season 2 is en route to my doorstep.

  1. I watch mostly re-runs. Everybody Loves Raymond, Frasier, Friends. Did you know you can watch Friends practically all day long, depending on which tv station you're on in L.A.?

I DVR 2 1/2 Men and Big Bang Theory.

  2. I could watch Friends all day long...once almost did. :) Awwww...now I'm looking forward to some fun fall times: raining outside, and just perfect for TV time! :)

  3. The shows you've never seen? I've only seen a couple episodes of Heros and have never seen the others. And you list of shows you wish were still on? I agree on all!

  4. I loved Heroes. And Lost. But we watched those through NetFlix Instant. So that doesn't really count! Right??

  5. abe and i want to watch all of "sopranos" on dvd too - we never had hbo when it was on. girl, you need to watch LOST and Mad Men! they're some of the best shows ever!

  6. I loved the Soprano's! Watched every episode. You have to check out TruBlood when you are caught up on The Soprano's...it is phenomenal!

  7. I've never seen any of those shows, either! And I'm still not into SITC or the Sopranos. I'm more of a Criminal Minds kinda gal! Hehe!

  8. I watch a lot of movies on DVD these days (via netflix). I LOVED soproanos, though by season 6 I think I'd ODed on it.

Also highly recommended: Dexter and The Wire. I almost never watch regular TV.

Thanks for your comments! Hope you stop by again soon! XO!
