My New Camera!

My new camera came in the mail yesterday! For those of you who asked which one I got, this is it:

Canon PowerShot SX20IS 12.1MP Digital Camera with 20x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5-inch Articulating LCD

It's the Canon PowerShot SX20IS 12.1MP Digital Camera with 20x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5-inch Articulating LCD, but I actually bought this kit since it came with so many goodies for around the same price:

Canon Powershot SX20IS 12.1MP Digital Camera with 20x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5-inch Articulating LCD Bundle w/ 4GB SD Memory, Card Reader, Case, Tripod and Lens Cleaning Kit

I am in love with it. It's hard to get used to having a heavier camera, I'm used to little skinny models and this one is a bit heftier. However, I think it will take my photos to a whole new level. I really wasn't ready to invest in the next level of D-SLR's, and after copious amounts of research I discovered the pictures this camera takes are of a level I can accept.

How was your weekend? Mine has been amazing. Yesterday, Running Buddy Selena and I met for a date that did not involve running (remember, it was yesterday afternoon that I discovered my 10 year high school reunion is less than 5 months away), but we did go shopping and out for coffee and breakfast and to the Santa Monica Farmer's Market. We always have a great time, there's just something about her that no one else on earth will ever understand about me. Something that only those who have run 26.2 miles by your side can know.

Then I went home, freaked out about the reunion, and got ready for date night with The Boyfriend. We went to the Enterprise Fish Co. in Santa Monica, I ordered the Scallop Risotto, and it was delicious. A tummy ache sent us home early, but by this morning I was back to my usual self. We made coffee in a French Press, and walked to the Brentwood Farmer's Market where I tried out my new camera. What do you think? Not bad for a first try and not having yet read the instruction manual!

I hope you are all having a great weekend. I'm off to the gym, then I'm going to make homemade strawberry jam with the berries I bought this morning. $8 for a half-flat! That's a great deal. And of course, now that my new camera is here, I'm making a Meatless Monday dinner tonight! So stay tuned tomorrow morning for a yummy Greek-themed dinner!

Big Hugs,

  3. Awesome pics! When I'm in the market (pun intended) to buy something, I research it to death too. lol!

That person, for me, is my cousin, Kiki, who I've written quite a bit about lately.

And I'm sorry you had tummy troubles (been there, done that!) but, at least, the food was good.

  4. Your camera is fabulous Erin! I swear by Canon too, and I think the model you chose is definitely a perfect in-between. The zoom on it is really nice. Pretty pics from the Farmer's Market!

  5. The pics look fabulous! I love the Brentwood Farmer's Market, and I love Main Street Santa Monica. Have you ever tried Library Ale House??? Their strawberry/goat cheese salad is my fave! I love that place.
