Mementos

Who do you think that is? Spotted on my Grandparent's wall, a rare photo of my little brother and I. Didn't my parents own a hairbrush? But kudos to them for putting me in that super-cute romper, which I would totally wear today.

Here we are by the beach in Jamestown, R.I., where they live. It was so great to see them, I'm so happy my Grandpa was well enough that day for a walk outside.

Found while rummaging through my Grandmother's recipe box, a vintage Date Balls recipe! Turns out, my Grandma was way ahead of her time in the whole date-ball thing. Even if the first ingredients of her balls are eggs, sugar and butter!

Rabbit crossing! You don't see that in L.A.!

The Newport Bridge. I forgot my camera the day we went to the Cliff Walk, but I took a picture of one of the mansions that I found particularly appealing with my cell phone and texted it to The Boyfriend with the caption, "What I want for Christmas."

A Clamcake. In all its fried glory. I could eat buckets of these things. The only thing stopping me from buying the mix was the fact that I'm terrified of frying foods myself. Oil burns? Not fun.

The beautiful beach. I know it's not the same kind of white sand beach we have here in L.A., but those black rocks still make me happy.

Well, as you can see, my marathon Grandparent-visiting trip went swimmingly well. There are a million more photos to share, which I will do over the next few days, but until then, I'm back and better than ever! (Not quite, I have returned with a cold and some body aches, nothing a night in with The Boyfriend can't cure.) And then Tuesday I start my new job! I'm going to be spending tomorrow getting everything in order, shopping, cleaning, running, and getting myself back in fighting shape!

What have you been up to? I've missed you so much! Let me know what's new since I've missed so much!

XOXO,
