Faux Pumpkin Spice Latte

Running Buddy Selena is by far one of my best friends. She also happens to be a genius of epic proportions. The buzz around town (when we aren't talking about the fires ravaging our city) is that the Pumpkin Spice Latte is back at Starbucks. (I know, this isn't much of a comparison, but it is L.A., and we do love our Starbucks.)
On Tuesday, Running Buddy Selena and I had this conversation via e-mail:

Subject: Pumpkin Spice Latte Is Back!!!

The Pumpkin Spice Latte is back at Starbucks! They don't have a sugar-free option, which kind of stinks. I got a venti with skim and it still had 330 calories in it! That was my breakfast.

You and I are so alike! I was there this morning too, and saw that it's back! I got really excited until I realized there was no sugar-free option. So I changed my mind and got an iced coffee instead. Bummer.

And then, yesterday, I got this e-mail from Running Buddy Selena:

Subject: I found a solution!!!

I found a solution to the Pumpkin Spice Latte Issue! Target makes an (Archer Farms) brand pumpkin spice flavored coffee and it's AMAZING! I made it this morning with Sweet & Low and skim milk, and let me tell you, it's perfect. You have to get this stuff now!

I think we all owe Running Buddy Selena a great big THANK YOU for making this grand discovery. And if we make it at home, we can save the cup!!!

  2. Didn't notice the sign, but have to tell you, emailed my friend that the Pumpkin Spice Latte is back. She is a HUGE fan and we have a game plan to go.

It's the first sign of Fall. Scary that a coffee drink marks the start of a new season for me.

  3. I've never tried the Pumpkin Spice...but now I will. My best friend and I fell in love with the Cinnamon Dolce Latte when we lived in Japan and we were both sooooo excited when we came back to the states to find it was a permanent fixture on most menues!
